This item was very easy to install and since I just started the hive the bees were none the wiser.

Works great!

Great for reducing the pest population in my hive.

Doesnt keep 100% of hive beetles out.

While I can see some SHB under the entrance wondering around looking lost, and I think it does reduce the number if SHB in the hive, it doesn't keep them all out. You need to make sure all the gaps are TIGHT. SHB can get through some small cracks. I have noticed a reduction in SHB in my hive when using this but there are certainly SHB that get in. Nowhere near the 60-150 a day I was getting last year in my freeman beetle traps. I have noticed a lot of bearding of the outside of the hive on warm days so now I am curious if this is allowing enough ventilation.
