Very versatile and it tastes good!
Red Russian [ its not red] is great in salads because it is mild flavored, not tough like the curly types, very good cooked like turnip greens, and is very cold hardy, standing just fine throughout the winter. It is almost a perennial.

Great Mild Flavor
Russian Red kale (as well as the white) are hardy (WV winters), easy direct seeding, & taste wonderful.
I decided to do a 4 x 4 bed out the backdoor this fall. I had a lovely bed full of beautiful plants & dreams of all the wonderful dishes I would make, and then the deer came.. They apparently love them too!
