TDS Meter

A must have piece of kit, works just as advertised

It reads quickly, and I’m sure it is doing what it’s supposed to.. but I don’t know how to interpret some variances.. For example, I assume it is using conductivity as a proxy for TDS, and after my tap water sits in contact with the Bilt OSCAR softening packs overnight, the reading is often different by 25 points. The same water at room temperature will read 50 points lower than after warming in the espresso water tank in the back of the machine. In any case, I do get a general idea of TDS to correlate with hardness and alkalinity.

Low-cost piece of maintenance equipment - quick and convenient to test my filtered water and dilute down to lower TDS w/ distilled water.
