A Lot of Work for Clear Ice

If you're willing to do a ton of work, you'll get clear ice. There's nothing to hold the silicon cover down, so it'll float: - Your cubes will be oval with a big seam - If you push down on the cover, water goes everywhere (simple, really, but just a warning) You can prevent this by putting your college physics textbook on top of the whole thing. If you have all that freezer space. The thing is, a simple notch and pressure plate on the carrier would fix the whole issue for maybe 15 cents in manufacturing. So: - Use filtered and/or heavily-boiled (and cooled) water - Start with the insulated container at room temperature - Start the freezing process in a regular kitchen freezer. It’s a bit much to ask folks to pour the water into those tiny little holes. There must be a faster way to fill up this thing. Speaking of size things, I hope these huge spheres fit into my rock glasses, and if so, that they leave space for the drink itself! I just got the item today and haven’t had time to get it out of the freezer. And now it’s too late to make a drink. It may have been better to wait a few days to ask me what I thought of it—you probably would have gotten a totally different, and more valuable, review.

I like the product, but it needs a funnel to allow one to fill the spheres with water. The first time it worked well. The second time the spheres only filled half way.
