Titanium Sake Cup

Beautifully made

OK you will probably think I am nuts but I have carried one of these in my toiletry bag for years to have a convenient cup for some water to swallow down tablets. It’s extremely tough, super small and light and has just the right capacity. I wish I did like Sake or spirits to use it with but I don’t - or it would be superb for those too. It does get a bit of patina with use - which I actually like.

Essential luxury: Design for use

I bought these sake cups as a set for my partner, an avid Snow Peak fan. Though we live in the city, we are always planning out next outdoor getaway, and as two designers, we often blend the urban and outdoor aesthetics in our home: we see them united by a sense of pragmatism and essential beauty, found in materials and a clear sense of future use. These sake cups are so niche in their specific designed use, but the material and softness of the shape makes them simultaneously universal. We use them for sake, of course, but also for sauces, toppings, after-espresso sparkling water, and of course can’t wait to carry them in our pockets on the next trip.

I use it for tea

Heat doesn’t transfer through to my fingers. I got it for small shots of tea from my thermos while taking short breaks on ski tours. Works great!
