Good flask, but what about the lid?

The flask itself is made without any flaws, though it's clear that the change from the older, shinier round flask derives from a straighter manufacturing process, in which some elegance got lost. I don't care, it's lightweight and supposed to go to the outdoors. But the lid is not up to my expectations. Though it's manufactured precisely, it's essentially a grey plastic cap with a transparent plastic sealing ring. Both plastics are in contact with the drink. If it was at least just the sealing ring... Second, this plastic cap is covered with a wooden cap. That's okay, but just the exterior is lacquered. The surface towards the flask is untreated - the wood soaks any liquid there, be it rain or spills of your drink. As there are no real alternatives to this flask, and as the quality as such is excellent, I'd still recommend it.
