The felt is quiet! It is soft to the touch and lays flat. It is a cushion muffling clanging of utensils and dishes. The size is perfect being neither too big or too small.

I'm very happy with these placemats. They're sleek, stylish and practical. They have been easy to clean, also hold moisture and are no problem with a hot plate. I purchased. a couple of sets of coasters and love them. I plan on purchasing more products.

Excellent product; cleans up nicely

We just ordered a new table and wanted some placemats that would protect it, rather than be simply decorative. (There is a well-known woven cotton one that used to; it's not as sophisticated as these, and reviews same they have been cheapened to the point that they aren't effective protection.) We love these. The colors are cool and the sizes are generous. I was concerned about cleaning. The photos show coffee stains on a coaster we ordered at the same time; a damp wet rag removed the stains quickly and effectively. We are delighted with our purchase.
