My recent purchase of a Jikko #6000 whetstone & Stone holder.

Hello again, When I received my whetstone & stone holder. I was happy in the way the items were package & delivered. When I opened the packet for the whetstone their were 2 minor chips on the stone. No I do not read in Japanese. So I had to guess how to use my whetstone initially. My first experience of using the whetstone was okay. But I wondering if I could do better. I decided to use a #400 stone to remove ink on the back of the stone. I have recently used my stone, it just felt that little better, as I sharpened my knives. I know that I purchased a synthetic stone, but I was surprised by the odour from the stone. A guess on my part, the binding agent to hold all the fine particles together. As for the stone stone holder. Glad I did, All the best for now, Robert
