Learn to Sew Jeans | Sewing Class

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this workshop. I’d sewed pants before but never denim and never jeans. This workshop took me on a deep learning dive that taught me so much more than how to sew jeans. Not only did I learn how to sew jeans I learned the how and why of how to sew them which just made the whole adventure more enjoyable. Teacher, Heather moves along at a good pace that’s easy to keep up with. Her team of people who help and support you are fabulous and articulate in their appraisal of your work and great at giving specific instructions on how to proceed with adjustments etc., Thanks Core Closet.. I shall return.

I said I’d never sew jeans until I took this class

I’m a fairly experienced sewist and I learned so much from this class excellent. The reason I said I would never sew jeans was because of the level of detail involved, the fitting process, and because I generally gravitate more wearing towards less rigid trousers. However, when I saw the class was on sale (and after dipping my toes into sewing denim trousers with another company’s pattern), I thought it was time to try sewing classic jeans. I’ve now made two pairs of Frank jeans and I’m very happy with them. All the tips that Heather gave that were not in the written pattern instructions definitely made the process much more enjoyable and my jeans more refined. The class forum is also a tremendous resource. For example, after making my first pair and saw that the zipper was set in a bit too much, I read a great tip about how to use a zipper with a wide tape from one of the posts (something that neither the instructor nor the written instructions addressed). Overall, this class was incredibly valuable.

I am a long time sewist and decided to make the Frank Jeans. I thought the class was reasonably priced and made the decision to check it out. I am very impressed by all the information Heather packed into the jeans series. I got so many tips on jeans making, that I feel it has upped my sewing game immeasurably. My wearable toile (after two short toiles) fits me like a charm and I'm currently working on the denim version. I can't say enough about all the extra tips included and the logical pace Heather sets. It's a recipe for successful jeans making! Thank you Closet Core!
