Not sure what to think as of yet the bareroot stem is dormant. It’s shaped like a “Y” not my favorite for fruit trees because it could split. I did put it in the ground 3 days ago,, pruned the tips today and mulched. My other two persimmon trees are on the other side of the house, south-side but this new tree I planted in the north garden. I wonder if I should replant to the south and closer to the others? I’m in the high desert so the sun scorched the other two young trees. I thought some shade might do it good, I hope? The stem arrived at about 4ft tall. It was grafted. Packed nicely!

Ideal start
The package arrived nicely packed in the Raintree company box, with the bare root tree in good shape ready to put into the hole dug to the specifications recommended by the Raintree video and backfilled with the compost/soil mix also recommended.

Bare root Saijo persimmon tree
This tree arrived in perfect condition. It looks like it is healthy and should grow well. I planted it next to a Hachiya, in hopes of pollination improvement. Seven more year for fruit? OK. I'm 82, and I have hopes of eating some of that fruit. The Hachiya bore for the first time last year. I planted my orchard starting in 2008, all with trees from Raintree Nursery. Asian pear, peaches, plums, cherries, quince, filberts. It is a fine orchard, bearing nicely. Unfortunately there is no room for anything more.
