This took a little longer to bud out than my cherry trees. I pre dug the holes soaked the roots and planted right away with appropriate water. It's budding out and doing fine

Plating a tree here is never a guarantee that we'll get a mature tree, but the saplings that we got from Raintree look really promising. They were packed very well, and we got timely shipping notifications so that we could be ready. They're big enough to stand a chance against the rabbits and ground squirrels. We've been looking for a red pear tree to replace one that was badly damaged by a badger burrowing into the roots. We couldn't find anything locally under $100, so when we saw Raintree's price, we ordered two. We're very satisfied with what we got, and we have already ordered other stock. We have recommended Raintree to other people.
