Malus domestica 'Akane'
Pronounced 'ah-kah-nay,' this firm, crisp and fully-flavored red eating apple produces good crops every year, no matter how bad the spring pollinating weather.
The scab and mildew-resistant apple from Japan is an excellent variety for the organic grower. It ripens in early fall. Hardy to USDA Zone: 4 Mature Height:
Akane makes really good Fuji type apples. Crisp and a little tart. My mini-dwarf tree is in partial shade but it blooms and fruits reliably. No disease.

I planted my dwarf tree and it looks great !
I planted both my Rubinette and Akane dwarf tree. They look amazing so far. I followed all the instructions from the apple guide rain tree nursery generously has available for free! I also had a consultation with a team member because I am a total newbiee at gardening and they did such a great job at answering all my questions and going above and beyond. I can’t wait to see what they look like a year from today.
