Bought the tub surround kit, there was no where near enough product to cover...I didn't even do the floor because I planned to do the nonskid coating, still didn't have enough. Also this product needs 2 top coats, not 1 primer and 1 top coat. I had extensive fish eyes trying to spread enough to cover everything. My surface preparation was meticulous. Took about 5 hours to sand (180 grit) and clean with acid and acetone. The primer does not do anything to help the surface finish of the top coat and you are forced to apply the top coat too thin which causes film shear and fisheyes. I have extensive experience with epoxies and 2 part roll on polyurethanes in marine applications and have always had excellent results. The only place I could see this product being effective is in a tub only, where you don't notice vertical surfaces as much. Self leveling is okay on horizontal surfaces but on vertical surfaces the viscosity (thicker than honey) is so high the epoxy tears itself apart causing fish eyes when applied to thin and runs when applied too thick. I had best results when applying thick. I have no idea the purpose of the primer, unless maybe you're covering a very dark shower. To be clear the tub and surround kit has 2 primer jars and 2 top coat jars. Only way I could see to get good results on a tub AND surround would be to apply the top coat thick with 3 or 4 top coat jars (where 2 are suggested), let cure, sand imperfections and repeat. This would be $500+ worth of product. Just replace tub or try spraying a 2 part product.

It worked well. However, I wish there was a little more material so I could have covered the whole project better. There is a "shadow" of the original color.
Can an additionalTop Coat be added?

Most Amazing tub refinishing system I have ever used. So easy to roll on. Masterpiece results from a DIY novice.
