Pease Slide-On Steel Door Sweep

The 36-inch door sweep was a perfect match for the old damaged one. I squirted a little bit of regular household oil in the tracks on the end I planned on sliding on first, then some more a few inches down about halfway through, and spread it out in the tracks with a flat head screwdriver. The lubricated end slid right on, and I pushed as much of it on as I could by hand, and finished the job off with light taps from a rubber mallet. No bugs will be crawling in under the door, and there will be no draft this winter. Our steel Pease Door is in great shape, and it still looks like new after 26 years. Only its door sweep needed to be replaced. I love Pease Doors. I could have looked around for some competitor's cheap knockoff or bought the door sweep online somewhere else, but I prefer to support American-owned businesses like Pease Doors so that they grow and create jobs. I hope you will, too.

It slid on just fine, replacing the door sweep that lost part of its fins over the decades. It is a relief to find a replacement part that actually works - no re-design just for the sake of re-design.
