Productive three season savoy!
Alcosa has done well for me fall winter and spring here on the coast. I currently have it as well as Charmant almost ready to plant out, both are sitting outside now and are hardened off to 35-40 degree overnights. Both have produced well in challenging conditions. My last overwintered Charmant is hard as a rock and ready to cut. The Alcosa seedlings are the more vigorous of the two but both will thrive. The one I miss is Melissa.

A class act!
The term ‘Savoy’ is synonymous with quality and Alcosa is a savoy that certainly lives up to the reputation. Deeply wrinkled deep green leaves wrap a dense, six or seven inch head that retains some color right to the center. Alcosa’s flavor matches its beauty, whether cooked or eaten raw.

Not sure about this batch
I planted some Alcosa cabbage seeds along with some other cabbages and beets in 4x6" bins to germinate. Everything did great, except the Alcosa. Only 3 sprouted out of about two dozen seeds. Not sure why as they all had the same conditions. So I planted again. This time had better results, however still not as many as expected.
