Prolific Kiwi Plant

Packed well and arrived in good condition.

Small but growing!

When this little vine arrived in late spring I up-potted it and kept it in the greenhouse for the first few weeks. It seemed the enjoy that warm, bright environment with at least daily spray mistings on the leaves and regular deep watering from below. As summer weather hit, the greenhouse became too hot so outside it went, into a patch of potted plants in the direct sunlight. It didn’t grow much during that time, despite regular watering. Next, I moved it into a shady, south-facing spot on the front porch and now we’re cooking with gas! It’s been sprouting new leaves regularly and getting a bushiness to it since it gets lots of warmth and indirect sunlight! It will likely be years before it’s mature enough to bear fruit, but I enjoy tending my plants and watching them grow under my care, so the fruit is just an added bonus. I’m excited to see how big this little one will become and eventually enjoy some adorable kiwis.

This little start came cleverly packaged with no damage and took right off when I transferred it to a larger pot then into the garden shortly after. It will be a few years before I get fruit but it’s fun to watch its vigorous growth.
