Replaced a decent set of Audioquest cables that Ive had for years for these. I know that they are supposed to burn in for a couple hundred hours, but the sound was noticeably better immediately. Im probably about 100-125 hours in, and they sound better every day. Thanks to Rob for his attentiveness and recommendations. Highly recommended!

AAC SC-5 ePlus Cryo Are Exceptional!

I am stunned. Count me a fool. It wasn’t long ago I had a really hard time believing cables could make much of a difference. I took a chance on a good USB cable and it made a definitely made a nice improvement. That led me to try Nordost to great disappointment. And so a friend recommended I try Audio Art. Out of the box: Not much different than the 10 gauge generic cables I was using before the Nordost. Nordost (fully burned in) had much more detail in the highs but not much else. The AAC SC-5 ePlus Cryo had much less detail but mids and lows were ok. 24 Hours in: High details have started coming in nicely but with a bit of harshness. But the mids fell out and the lows got muddy. 48 Hours in: Highs continue to be more refined without a trace of harshness. Mids are back with a vengeance. Lows are deep and tight. It was fascinating to hear them evolve. I played Hubert Sumlin’s “Sometimes I’m Right” off his Blues Guitar Boss album. I was blown away at how beautiful it sounded. And that was the second night! I’ve had to go out of town for 5 days and left the system running the whole time with a CD on loop which got me to 200 hours. I got in late at night and didn’t listen until the next morning and I’ll repeat that I’m stunned. The difference is extraordinary. Everything sounds SO right now. Perfectly balanced. The separation is amazing. Each sound is distinct. They might be just a bit shy of the Nordost on high detail but it’s hard to tell. The Nordost might have sounded more detailed because the mids and lows were completely lacking. The AAC SC-5 ePlus Cryo cables absolutely have great detail but the mids and lows are also SO visceral now. Most of the songs I’ve listened to so far sound like a different recording. Like going from a bad MP3 to a 256 DSD. It’s everything I had hoped for and frankly more. I can’t thank Rob enough for a great deal on truly remarkable cables that someone will have to pry out of my cold, dead hands.
