Much Better Than That Sawdust That Comes With The Wine Kits

Those spirals are preferable to using the oak "chips" supplied with the kits. For one thing they are much neater. They also lend themselves to being more exact: I usually make a 3-gallon trial batch of wine (non-kit) before I splurge on a six-gallon batch, and ordering up several of those spirals. I have a couple "medium toast spirals along with the heavy toast, and can use part of a spiral to experiment with the amount of oak flavoring I want in my finished wine.
