First time brewing

This was my first time brewing, but the first pint tastes great! Their YouTube instructions were very helpful. The hardest part was the bottling, though. Although some equipment arrived broken, the staff kindly sent out replacements. I appreciate it.

Easy to Use, Great Service from NB, Not a lot of Beer

This was my first time brewing beer: the kit was super easy to use and the instructions were clear. The videos had some good suggestions and details as well. I had a few broken items in my shipment, Northern Brewer has been super responsive and helpful. The kit only made about 7 bottles of beer so it’s not much beer for the effort, but the small size made it easy to manage and it’s a great learning experience (the beer is still conditioning and I haven’t tried it yet, it smelled right when we bottled it). It’s been a lot of fun. I have some durability concerns with the glass fermenting jar - the hole for the spigot is drilled and is not reinforced, I see a small crack forming, it hasn’t leaked yet, but I expect the cracking will continue as I take the spigot on/off.

Saved me from making a terrible mistake!

I had quit brewing and was never going to try it again. Until I saw this kit. Note: I write this as I sip on a glass of beer from the first batch I ever brewed. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I had tried one of the other company's brew kits where you had to siphon during racking and I rage quit when most of my beer ended up on the kitchen floor. After several months I decided to try again, but with the Northern Brewer one gallon kit with the spigot. No siphoning! No problems! Great experience! I have a second batch fermenting in it now. I highly recommend this kit.
