NGP antenna for home use...

I am using the Firestick NGP as a base station antenna, installed on a 15 foot mast. The no ground plane design is required since this is installed on a Block structure without any effective ground plane. I have run Vector SWR scans of the antenna’s SWR over the BW used by the 40 CB channels… The SWR is Below 2, but even at the lowest point (CH-20), it’s still about 1.7-1.8…Since the effective ground plane is just the coax… these are limitations.. Anyway, it’s been working ok. Due to HOA limitations I did not want to install a large antenna, so this is a compromise. I already tried a regular mobile antenna, but it needed a ground plane that doesn’t exist in this location.. So the NGP version of the FireStick was my option… I would suggest using a NanoVNA for getting a handle on your antenna’s turning and SWR performance.

I haven't had a chance to put the new system to complete use to give a thorough test. However, the preliminary results are good. The product is very well made and the instructions for installation were OUTSTANDING! My expectation is that it will do great based on the quality of the product and instructions. Seems like a simple thing but you can tell a lot about a product by the details in the setup sheet.
