Great pattern
This is a wonderful pattern that is easy to make if you have a bit of experience in crochet before you begin. For those of you in the U.S, I used a steel size 2, 2.5 mm hook and #10 crochet cotton thread for the top. I just experimented with hooks until I found one that would made a one inch starting chain using 9 chains. When finished with the crochet bodice, I blocked to the dimensions in the pattern on a piece of styrofoam house insulation covered with a towel. It was a tiny bit bigger than the stated dimensions, but I pinned it to the correct size and just steam blasted with my iron like crazy until it shrunk to the perfect size For the skirt, I made the mistake of buying netting that ended up being waaaaay too transparent. Unfortunately I didn’t realize that until I had finished cutting enough circles for 3 dresses. I then went to Hobby lobby and bought chiffon, which worked really well. At the time of this writing, hobby lobby has really nice and inexpensive chiffon in many colors that drapes really well. I think I will go back and buy a bunch more in different colors and precut them so I make make this dress again while traveling. Whatever fabric you choose for the skirt, I highly recommend using several craft clips to hold the top of your strips together before you begin cutting. When you cut the circles out, make sure you use a rotary cutter with a new blade.
