Patterson is my go to winter storage onion variety. Always good yield with medium to large bulbs.

Patterson Onions
It's too soon to tell anything besides germination rate which is 71.5%. They are growing slowly but no slower than my other onions. I am a very experienced hobby gardener who has had great success with most crops except onions! This is the year of the onion for me, I am trying many different scenarios for growing them.

New at onion seeds
We were really excited to try starting onions from seed. Germination went well. We were told to start early indoors and plant out once the ground was able to be worked. We did just that, however we went from approximately 40 sprouts to 5 in the ground and actually doing okay and I’m not sure how they will grow. Ive been told by many people in my area that they will likely not grow bigger than green onions. I’ll try again next year with our remaining seed. More info on how to successfully grow full onions from seed would be welcome!
