Irish Breakfast
I’ve tried Irish breakfast teas before and found them too strong, so I was a little nervous to try this one. I’m so glad I did because it’s now my favorite of their breakfast teas! The flavor is strong, but nicely balanced and smooth.

Breakfast Tea, the most important tea
This is a review of the Irish Breakfast, but also the Scottish and English. I saw a TikTok Friday did... maybe last year? It was about the blends and also the tasting notes -- earthy teas versus floral teas (not floral -- planty?) is how it stuck in my head. The breakfast teas move along that spectrum from English (planty over earthy) to Irish to Scottish (earthy over planty).
I bought all three to try as a flight with my partner, and we tried them both straight up and adulterated (milk and sugar). For me, personally, the Irish is my favorite. I can taste both the earth and the leaf fully (and I drink it black). If you like milk and sugar, I think the other two are more interesting depending on which end of the flavor spectrum you prefer. I highly suggest trying them all (and maybe Friday Afternoon could consider selling a sampler of breakfast teas?)
