I've been covering my grey with purple! Here's my process....
I've been using royal plum and magenta majesty on my hair twice a week in the shower. I like to add the magenta to give the royal plum a bit more pop on my dark hair. I have dark brown hair that is slowly greying, and the effect is mostly to cover my grey. The purple is subtle indoors when my hair is down, but it shows up a lot more in the sunlight and when I pull my hair back (because I have more grey around my hairline and thus the purple shows up more). There are a few spots where my grey hair texture is a bit different, especially in the sideburn area, and the color doesn't stick as well. My regular routine is to wash my hair in the shower, step away from the spray (or switch to the mist setting), put on the gloves (which I can reuse for many weeks), squirt one glob of each color into the palm of my hand, apply to my hair, comb through with a wide-tooth comb, rinse off the comb, shave my legs, step back under the water and rinse the color conditioner, take off my gloves, rub a glob of moisturizing conditioner through my hair, exfoliate and wash my face, rinse out the conditioner, turn off the water and grab a towel. After I've dried off and comb my hair I dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and clean up any color on my face and where I part my hair. I like the tubes better than the old bottles -- much easier to get product out. But there is still some waste at the bottom of the tube and I wish I could buy larger tubes.

My favorite color!
I alternate between Royal Plum and Vivid Violet (or combine the two) to maintain my salon-dyed dark purple hair. Using Overtone prolongs the time I can go between getting a color refresh with my sylist - sometimes up to 9 months! I know it's time to see her when my ends are faded and I can't get them to the same color level, or my roots have grown out to the top of my ears. Overtone seriously moisturizes my hair, which has always tended toward dry. My hair length is below my shoulder blades. I plan on being the wrinkly old woman who rocks super long, purple hair, always with the help of Overtone's Royal Plum!

Purple hair, don’t care!
Very happy with the Overtone products for my teen who wants to experiment with hair color. She has darker brown hair and in the past the color would be subtle but this time she wanted a more vivid result. So we used the lightener first. And we’re extremely happy with the final outcome. It was the exact result she was hoping for.
