I have owned Dream in Black for a year. Tried several other options and decided to get these in the brown. If it isn't broke, don't fix it !

Form vs. Function
This is a cute and different style that hints at being a boot. In these southern states boots look ridiculous, but this shoe would be great with genes, khakis, etc. As others have mentioned, brown is kind of hiding your light under the sad, brown bushel. A lighter, golden-brown -- like a cowboy book color would go with so many different things. I hope you can research and test what I might call "saddle tan." Thank you.
