Deering Armrest

I bought my Deering Delux 6 second hand several years ago. The previous owner apparently didn't like the cold metal feel of the armrest and remedied the situation by gluing black leather over the entire surface of the rest. The result was hideous comfort. I was replacing some other parts and ran across the armrest in the factory catalogue. It arrived on my porch and when I installed it the banjo was transformed, from hideous to beautiful. I wish I would have done it years ago. I also replaced my second head and got a new "smile" bridge. I slotted the bridge for the strings myself, a first for me, and found that it wasn't too difficult. I love the armrest and all the rest. Now I need to learn how to play better.
