A funky gem!
I love Florence Retro! A great wood-y sound, a slippery neck, a feel as light as a feather and a great old-timely (classic) look. This little guitar is a winner!

Orangewood Florence Retro
Likes:
The ‘parlor’ body shape, weight and size.
Feels good on my lap and in my hands.
The retro color, but think a natural finish would also be a nice option.
The sound is quite nice with good sustain for a small guitar.
Dislikes:
I play electric guitars as well and my style involves more bending of the strings so I prefer smaller guage strings (11s or 10s for the high E).
Also the strings are set a little too high (especially on the notes and open chords near the neck nut) out of the factory. I prefer a lower action.
Difficult to bar a D chord on the 10th fret, as my hand is up against the body. I see that Orangewood offers a ‘baritone’ neck with this parlor body, which may be even more to my liking. Overall, the guitar is solid and good sounding. Plugging in to an amp, I find the p/u output nice and clear. The guitar offers very high value for the price.

Florence Retro Live
Having tried out a Florence a few years ago, I knew I was going to receive an ideal scale for easy fretting. The Retro Live is far and away better in fit, finish and tone than I had been expecting. Good warm, sustained lows and crisp highs reproduced very faitfully by the LR Baggs Element pickup. Nice all around.
