Serengeti Bush Bean (55 Days)

I planted these beans late summer and early Autumn. The summer beans did well. They produced all at once and were mostly harvested before the late summer bean beetles got to them. The early fall beans were not as flavorful, but by that time the days were getting short. Overall,I was pleased and will grow these again. Don’t know how they would do as a spring crop.

Best bean ever!

The Serengeti bean is consistent in growth, green, and bean. For sake of hiding our crop from the beloved cottontails, which roam around, the Serengeti doesn't at all mind being shoved in a 42"x32" cold frame at 4" spacing. It just grows taller than those spaced at 6" in a regular bed. These beans provide us ample crop for the two of us, with bean after bean after bean. I've tried others and they just don't stack up to the Serengeti in quality and quantity.

My favorite Green Bean

I've grown many different green beans over the years, but after growning the last year and this year they have become my favorite by far. These thin french filet green beans produce well and are so tender and flavorful. A gourmet delight for sure. I plan on growing them every year from now on.
