This valve is used on the waterline of plumbed in machines, it prevents water from back flowing into machine. Only allows water to flow in one direction.

So far so good
When I removed the old check valve, I could definitely see why I was having an issue with the plumbed portion of my Giotto Evo R. Replaced it with this check valve and so far I have had no issues with water flow. Was a rather simple fix but did require following the diagram to make sure I was replacing the correct valve. Thanks to Joe at Chris' Coffee for the assistance.
