I love this variety, it grows well in zone 9B, you don't have to peel it to cook, in the winter I combine it with sweet potatoes, Brussel sprouts.

Outstanding Winter Squash

The vines of Delicata plants are much shorter than most winter squash, so there is less length per vine for fruit, but the fruit is outstanding in both eating quality and keeping ability. The bush version of this particular squash bears much less fruit than the vining cultivar, FYI. As I said above, the fruit is a very good keeper, so make room for this squash!
