Beautiful addition to the spring onion mix
I have been pleased so far with the performance of Apache; good germination, strong growth, pleasant color variation to traditional spring onions. As with most things in my garden, I have planted way too many which has allowed me the abundance to enjoy these through most of their life cycle. The red coloring is only on the outer layer, they are similar to green spring onions on the inner rings and tops. I haven't noticed a significant taste difference either, with a mild onion flavor that does not overpower raw and cooks well in omelets or other lightly sauteed recipes. Apache has earned a permanent spot in my garden.

Starting out great
So far the seeds I planted have sprouted and have long baby green onion shoots. I just got them planted into the garden and so time will tell but I think I’m off to a good start this season. I’m trying them in small clumps of 4 this year instead of singlets Thanks for your great choices and varieties.

Poor germination
I was hoping to have more of these beautiful onions. This is the first time I've started onions from seed. They just didn't germinate well in a direct planting situation.
