Multi purpose garden essential

I use these for potatoes, onions, beekeeping and mushroom cultivation. They last much longer than their plastic onion sack alternatives, which tend to degrade after one year. I am a market farmer and I use the plastic ones to sell to clients since they are cheaper, but for our own inventory management we use the burlap until we pack it for sale. The beekeeper likes to use them for hive winterization, and I use them for heat pasteurization of straw and other substrates in boiling water before mushroom inoculation. While the top edge will begin to fray and show signs of wear, the bag remains in tact, keeping product from falling out of holes and onto the floor, as was an issue with plastic sacks.

Great quality potato bags!

Successfully stored two varieties of potatoes (also bought here) this winter. My only wish is that they'd be easier to close somehow. the string around mine was already fraying, so I ended up using some old twine instead. Otherwise, they are perfect!

Very well made. Because I grow 6 different varieties of potatoes I store each kind separately. The bags are ideal for this. By the time my sweet potato crop is ready to harvest I will have several of these bags available and I will need their full carrying capacity.!
