Cooper River Wool Hat

Keeps my head warm here in Thunder Bay when a terry-cloth make-shift scarf is wrapped around the head and chin beneath covering the ears. However, the structure could be a little stiffer when opposing the wind - it tends to get a little floppy in winds above 10-15 km/h . Otherwise I love the hat for my intended purpose which is not dress but practicality in our cold winters here which can see highs of just -10C during the day at times, and newly-developing-over the past ten years winds. Likely an underlayment of a type of canvas around the hat brim will remove the floppyness, if wool and canvas could be combined thus creating a stiffer wind-resistent woolen hat. the front of the hat could be contoured to let the wind flow overtop the hat instead of catching it beneath.

Good, stout, wearable and practical outdoor hat

Well built, inside and out. Firm wool felting holds shape well. Good water resistance in mild rain. Good fit straight out of the box. Keeps sun off scalp and ears. Brim keeps sun out of eyes and provides shade for face and neck. This hat will get a lot of use, as did my other.
