June 10, 2026 After extensive research, I decided to purchase a Helix mattress, and overall, I'm very satisfied with my decision. First, I want to mention the customer service experience because it was exceptional. The Helix team went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied, answered my questions thoroughly, and never made me feel pressured. Their responsiveness and commitment to customer satisfaction exceeded my expectations. As for the mattress itself, the biggest benefit has been the improvement in my sleep quality. I've dealt with lower back pain for quite some time, and since switching to this mattress, I wake up feeling much more refreshed and comfortable. The mattress provides excellent support while still feeling soft and comfortable. One feature I really appreciate is the modular design. The setup was a little different than I expected, but I ended up liking it. Being able to unzip the top and replace or upgrade the comfort layer instead of replacing the entire mattress is a smart design choice and adds long-term value. The mattress also has excellent edge support. It doesn't collapse or buckle when sitting or lying near the edge, and I move around quite a bit while sleeping without feeling unsupported. It's also very quiet, with no noticeable noise or movement issues. That said, there are a few areas where my experience differed from my expectations. I purchased a cooling model with a pillow top, but I still tend to sleep warm. While the mattress is comfortable, I can often feel retained heat where I've been lying, so the cooling performance wasn't quite as effective as I anticipated. I also noticed the new mattress odor lingered longer than expected. It wasn't overwhelming, but even after airing it out and making the bed, the smell remained for about a week before fully dissipating. Another minor observation is that the mattress cover material allows fitted sheets to slide more than I'm used to. I ended up adding an extra layer underneath my fitted sheet to keep everything snug and in place. This is more of a personal preference than a criticism, but it's something prospective buyers should be aware of. My one design suggestion would be to add handles to the sides of the mattress. Given the quality and weight of the mattress, handles would make rotating or repositioning it much easier. Overall, Helix delivered a high-quality mattress that has significantly improved my comfort and reduced my back pain. While the cooling features didn't fully live up to my expectations and there were a few minor inconveniences, the comfort, support, sleep quality, and outstanding customer service make this a purchase I'm happy with and would recommend to others.

Concerned
It’s a very nice mattress but I’m conflicted due to increased back problems. I chose the Sunset but now I’m wondering if I should have chosen the Midnight. I haven’t had back trouble before. I am definitely concerned.

Firmer than expected
I find this mattress much firmer than expected. I chose the Sunset Luxe over the Midnight Lxe for the soft feel, per the site: "Pillowy and cushioned - Envelops you in airy softness - Cradles your body in cocoon-like comfort" To me, it doesn't really meet that description. It is feels like a medium firmness mattress. I sink into it slightly, but certainly not as soft as expected. Perhaps soft and support are contradictory. The mattress does not signicantly help with my shoulder pain as other reviewers have mentioned, but it is better than my old mattress. I still have to change sides frequently in the night. Of course that could be my body. It is a well-made mattress and generally comfortable, but I was hoping it would get to feel softer over time and it hasn't. I keep wondering if they mislabelled a Midnight as a Sunset! For the money, it should live up to its advertising.
