TEST KITCHEN - COWBOY PEPPERED BEEF JERKY

The Peppered Cowboy Jurky was excellent! It had just the right amount of pepper, flavor and chew to it. It reminded me of old time jerky when I was a child. The only problem was I ate the whole 1 lb bag in 3 or 4 days and ordered a new 1 lb bag in a different flavor.

I wasn't impressed with the flavor. It's not bad if you like sweet and soy sauce based marinade. I lean more to a true traditional dry rub with spices and salt. But you cant find a non soy sauced jerky anywhere unless you make it yourself. But it is tasty if you like this sorta thing. I bought 2lbs and I ate one bag in 3days already so there ya go. Its gotta be pretty bad for me not to polish it off. Very edible just not my style.

They lived up to the promise. A classic jerky like I would buy from the corner store in the 80s; not the soft sweet mush I see everywhere at outrageous prices. Not only was the price lower, the product is better. In my opinion.
