Simple, Good Looking, and Effective! All THAT in a Tailpiece

I have a weakness for the interesting and unusual. And this Colby tailpiece fits that description in all respects. Though it's non-adjustable, the Colby tailpiece provides a rock solid terminus from which your banjo strings begin their musical journey. Since installing this tailpiece, I get all kinds of comments and compliments from interested banjo players. And when they hear it in action, they are immediately impressed. You can't go wrong with a Colby!

Still looking for a home for the Colby.

I put it on my Gibson Mastertone but it didn't seem to improve the sound so I replaced it with an Oettinger., better choice. The Colby is now mounted on a vintage open back nylon string banjo. We will see in about a week.

I’ve built 3 lightweight master tone style ( aluminum pot assembly) banjos , & used this tailpiece on all 3. I love the skeletonized look, weight & it matches the rest of the pot in color & material .
