2009 Xinghai "Dragon" Ripe Pu-erh Tea Mini Cake

My favorite Shou to date

This was a BOGO tea from my recent order. I am not very experienced with Shou Pu-erh, but this is the favorite of the three I've tried. It certainly has a lot in common with the others in having a very distinctive earthy, musty aroma, very dark color, but very low astringency and no acid or bitterness in the middle. I made about 8 infusions with this tea, and I tended to enjoy it more in the later infusions than in the earlier ones. It has a very strong qi that took me by surprise, considering how mellow the tea is. Be careful! :) Not a very useful review, but, as I said, I am still trying to 'get' shou pu-erh -it's really the one style of tea I have trouble understanding, even though I like other hei cha and shing (maybe too much for my wallet's health :) )

Great tasting tea arrived in a well packet parcel. A little sample was also added, and greatly appreciated. :) Shiping was also reasonale considering the travelingdistanse involved. I will most definitely shop here again. :)

I bought this tea from Scott years ago and just bought another. Tasty little cake that I take camping. Brew 4 minutes with boiling de-ionized water.
