It's as beautiful and comfortable as I thought it would be, you can easily tell this is a quality futon as well. I bought tatami mats for a queen sized bed and placed them in a bed frame and placed this futon set on top, it works amazingly well and allows good air flow. Twice a week I sun the futon my draping it over my desk chair in front of my bedroom windows, one side per day when I leave for work and then flip it and do the other side the next day and the futon stays even and fluffy, it's not so heavy that it's unmanageable at all. I opted to get the matching comforter and summer comforter as well, but as someone whose body runs hot I don't think I'll be using the matching comforter too much even in winter, it is heavy and absolutely warm which is what you'd want. The summer comforter is sized for one person and absolutely perfect, light, airy, but keeps you plenty warm, but not excessively so, perfect for someone like me. What people say is true and it takes at least a few days of sleeping on the futons to get used to it, but after you do it feels great. it does promote back sleeping, so side sleepers beware, it can cause a little soreness in your hips, but with adjusting how you lay that can be avoided, but sleeping on your back is better for you anyway. I would really really caution any international buyers, don't make the mistakes I did, be 100% sure you know what you want. I thought I had the comforter in my set, but the cart just hadn't updated, quickly bought through Shop pay, and realized the mistake too late and had to make a second order, and boy does that international shipping hurt. Beautiful patterns, excellent product, and top notch service, plain and simple.

If you love Futon, its quality is worth the price.

Slept on a Shikibuton during my very first trip in Japan. Now I owned a beautiful set for myself. The comfort and skilled craftsmanship is very apparent. Had better sleep in it than my mattress. Admittedly heavier than I initially thought so it’s a bit of a workout to keep care of but it’s a healthy routine to get used to.
