I've tried various tins, double lidded containers, but I never felt they were air tight. I would put water in them and watch it leak out. But these bags tick off all the right stuff - air tight, UV protected and I can squeeze out the excess air (something you can't do with a tin container).

Excellent bags

I bought the smaller bags in case I wanted to share tea with friends so they're EXACTLY the size I wanted. They expand quite a bit but they still don't hold a whole lot so be careful when picking a size to order.
