Great reel! I've paired it with both ultra light and med light rods and it has preformed great. When I'm throwing light lures, soft bfs plastics on weightless hooks, the line peels off effortlessly giving me much more distance on my casts. Good drag when fighting bass, I recently landed a 8lb freshwater drum the first week i had the reel on 6lb line. I would definitely buy this reel again.

Casts micro lures no problem
Used 10lb varivas 4 PE line with 6lb Seagar invizx floro leader, casted 1/32 lure nice and smooth with no over spooling or backlash. Great reel!

BF-Avid is the way
This thing handles lightweight lures and heavier weights as well. Absolutely a dream to cast and great distance for the light stuff that I throw. I will buy another so I don’t have to switch my stream rod and pond rod out and just have two set ups ready to go. Brakes are honestly the best I’ve used for ultralight and power bfs as well. Drag clicker works amazing and sounds great. Have caught dozens of trout and plenty of bass already, performance is top notch for the money. Even handled a 7.9 pound bass on an ultralight rod without hesitation. Using PE line makes a big difference for lightweight stuff but light fluorocarbon does cast great too.
