Truly Minimalist

BD revised this helmet since I'd last purchased one, shaving even more weight off of it. This is the helmet for you if what you need is ultralight protection, but for any activity which may have some occasional head hits (off width, canyoning, caving), this won't hold up. Great helmet for it's niche, just make sure it's what you expect!

Fantastic Helmet!

I originally purchased this helmet for when I want to take my ultra light paraglide setup out for a spin (usually off of the summit of a high mountain). However, I have found myself using this helmet for a lot more than that! It’s been climbing, gravel bike riding, and of course flying with me so far! So light I don’t even know I’m wearing it. My GoPro 13 blk weighs 3x what this thing does, and that’s saying something! 10/10 recommend!

Major improvement over old BD Vapor!

Wow, just wow, I’m so amazed. I was a bit skeptical when I saw the updated version of the vapor. Especially since I was a massive fan of the original design. I’ve never loved soft strap systems in climbing helmets, I’ve always found them to be difficult to adjust (especially over a hat) and just plain uncomfortable. But somehow black diamond has managed to hit the nail on the head with this suspension system. First of all, the vapor fit is exactly the same as the beloved original design (phew!) which fits my head perfect. And more importantly tends to fit over hats perfectly. Second, the suspension system is so incredibly comfortable, I don’t know how they have have managed to do this, between the comfortable design and light weight (lighter than the last version!!), I often completely forget I’m even wearing this helmet. Lastly, the adjustable straps are so easy to use, I actually prefer it more than the old hard plastic system. And even better, it adjusts perfectly and easily over a hat. Overall, I’ve seldom been this impressed by a piece of gear but this helmet has been worth every penny. Wish I didn’t wait so long to upgrade had I known this helmet is in fact a major improvement over the older generation. I think a lot of the reviews I had seen online had me a bit hesitant, but I just can’t agree with any of the negatives that they bring up. This thing is slick!!!
