Opportunity Knox: The New Kid

This was a really fun read with a thoughtful take home message about trusting your own inner voice. I’m a (supposedly) grown adult who occasionally enjoys reading teen/YA fiction like Opportunity Knox. I think a perceptive middle school reader would walk away from this story entertained and perhaps better equipped to face their next challenging social situation. I felt a nice wave of nostalgia for my youth, and for my days as a parent of formerly teenage kids. And of course, even adults need reminders that our inner voices can get drowned out by the noise of daily life. I am looking forward to what I hope are the next chapter in the life of Opportunity Knox – I think he’s got a bright future ahead of him!
