The boot fits snug and tight, it keeps the bottle from banging against items that would normally make a loud noise. I have dropped my bottle once and it shielded the noise.

I bought tow of them one for the bottom othe for the top par of the bottle i just had to cut the bottom part of the silicon boot so it fit the top
