Bear canister strap
I love this strap! Well worth it. Helps create more room inside the pack for more items if needed. I had an issue with the strap buckle. Tightened it WAY too much and couldn't get it off the canister, so I used a little liquid dish soap and water on the part of the strap that ran through the buckle and it loosened up quickly. Other than that, it works well.

Works, but the main strap tightens needs work.
It was very easy to attach to the pack in any position and stayed on even when I took a bad tumble and the bear can took the brunt of the fall (I had it strapped in where a bed roll or tent would normally be strapped horizontally near the bottom-back of the pack). For reference I was using a BV500 Bear Vault, it was empty on the hike out and loaded with maybe a 1-2lbs of pack-it-out stuff on the way out. I don’t notice any difference. It was easy to get the can to stay rigidly attached to the pack. My main problem was that the main strap that encircles the bear can is very difficult to tighten or loosen. The best way to use it was to get it to the perfect diameter and then forcibly slide it on or off the bear can. We only did this twice before I realized it was better to keep the strap system on the bear can than attached to the pack. It works, it’s solid, it’s reliable. The main strap’s buckle keeps it attached, but it’s hard to pull the strap through the buckle under tension e.g. when it’s around the bear can.

Bear Canister BV450 Holder
Seems to be constructed well but haven't taken on the trail for a full test yet. Shipping was fast.
