Work Great!

I just had a chance to try out the Universal Balance Pockets on an overnight trip with my young daughter. I knew water would be scarce on the trail, because we haven't had much rain lately. With that in mind, I decided to carry all the water we would need for drinking & cooking for 2 days + 1 night. This was 5L of water + snacks in the pockets. I am not exaggerating when I say that I barely felt the water weight- everything was transferred directly to my hips. If all that water weight was carried on my back, my shoulders would have been quite sore & uncomfortable. Also, due to the weight balance, I didn't have to tighten my shoulder straps as much. This was the most comfortable experience carrying my current backpack I've had. In total, I had about 14-15lbs on my back, and 9-10lbs in the pockets. While not a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, the pockets were still very effective and I was able to hike completely upright. I'm not ready to ditch my current pack just yet, but when I do, I will most likely purchase a complete Aarn system.

Fits great

I was excited with the idea of balancing the weight of my pack. This truly does it better than I was expecting. The latching and unlatching is going to take a little time to get used to. I would have given 5 stars but I hate the color.
