I no longer have an allotment but bought this book for some recipe ideas for my weekly biodynamic veggie bag from a local farm. I’ve been thrilled with all the dishes I’ve tried so far. So refreshing to find simple seasonal recipes that are really tasty & don’t require a shopping trip to stock up on another 10 ingredients to complete the dish. Catherine has thoughtfully added some substitute ingredients which is always really helpful. I’ve only had one disaster & that was the No Knead Bread. I don’t think I used enough sourdough starter as I use spelt rather than wheat flour. Looking forward to giving it another try armed with a bit more experience now. The book is very well laid out, beautiful photography of Catherine’s dishes & Charles’ allotments. All very inspiring & I loved reading Charles’ growing tips in each of the chapters.

I'm so pleased I bought this book. So many lovely recipes. It will be a real help as the year moves on and we need to deal with various gluts from the garden. Good ideas for which ingredients can be swapped in if you're short of something. It's definitely a book to be kept close by in the kitchen.
