Charles Dowding’s Calendar of Vegetable Sowing Dates 2026

Abundance on the increase with this calendar!

I've been using this calendar for 3 years as I improve my do-dig practice of over 15 years. This year I am embracing the succession planting fully, using it to sow seeds of EVERY plant mentioned in the calendar. It is so useful for making sure you always have more plants available than you think you need (a great rule of thumb from Mr Dowding). The 2024 calendar seemed to synch with Maria Thun's biodynamic sowing but the 2026 one doesn't so much. Easy to adapt to get those sowings according to both in any case. I would love to see a few other vegetables added to the calendar such as salsify, skirret and root parsley (a favourite).

As I’m new to growing veg and am in only my second season having recently got my allotment it’s going to be great to have some Knowledge of when to sow and plant on times throughout the season which is great help for beginners . Found Charles downing on YouTube channel and trying to get some knowledge about growing vegetables and have discovered the no dig route and love the idea and simplicity.

Brilliant visually and an excellent way to teach me how to create and build my kitchen garden.
