Patriotic Gnomes Table Runner Kit

I've purchased several table runner kits from Block Party Quilt Co. and have almost always been very pleased with the product and the results. If you purchase the Patriotic Gnomes kit, be aware that the rick-rack is not heat proof and melts if you iron directly on the rick-rack, and residue gets on the bottom of your iron and can smear onto the background fabric if you don't catch it in time. It can be cleaned off the iron easily. I haven't laundered the runner, so I don't know if the small smudges on the background fabric are permanent or not.

Piecing the top was fun and easy with all of the pieces precut. One suggestion I have is to consider where pieces are going to be used when using directional fabric, the Flag fabric given for the hat bands was cut vertical instead of horizontal. I have it on my long arm waiting to be quilted.

A little disappointed

I did not find this met my expectations. Other than the red and white stripe fabric, the others did not match the vibrant colors of the sample and I found the quality of the fabric was not what I expected. In addition I was short one strip of white for the background edge. (At least it was white) I was traveling and planned to finish this on the road but ciuld not because of the missing piece. So disappointing! This order confirmed all my fears of ordering online. It was a cute pattern but I don't think I will order again.
