I fill my Breg with cold water and then four frozen water bottles. The cooling works a long time without having to add ice constantly. Love it!

Glad we decided to buy not rent

I was very pleased with the decision to purchase an ice machine rather than rent one for my husband’s knee replacement surgery recovery. The Polar Cube is easy to use and keeps cold for hours. Not having an on/off switch is not a big deal and I’m sure it helps keep the cost affordable. Don’t bother with the ice bags, they don’t last very long and the water bottles work better and stay frozen longer.

Useful shoulder surgery recovery tool with some improvements

Good customer svc reps answered my questions & confirmed my choice of Breg Cube with shoulder wrap for upcoming surgery recovery, was recommended by family members. Chose it over Donjoy option due to reviews indicating slightly better cooling, better fitting shoulder wrap pad, and easier one handed operation. The recommended size regular was unfortunately too snug a fit for comfort. We Amazoned 3" velcro tape & cut additional lengths to add to the included Breg straps, & attached on the rear side of the pad. This inexpensive sturdy solution worked well & is comfortably flat to lean back against when reclining. IF YOU are even near the size limit, suggest ordering up. Also purchase a remote control electrical plug (Wmart or Amzon $10-15), plug cooler into it & easily control one handed from chair. Used frozen water bottles (squeaky clean inside & out) instead of ice cubes, 2 sets of 4.
