Everything worked great! I just cleaned up the drums and put it all back together.

The nuts holding the brake assembly on to the axle (pictured) were very difficult to remove, largely because the leaf springs are in the way and make it hard to access. Also, you need to get the camper high enough off the ground (at least 2-3 feet) for a breaker bar to do any good. If you have an impact wrench, that will work for the top two nuts, but not the bottom ones. Getting the drums turned was a challenge—only one place in my city of 1million people (an O’Reillys) would do it; most places don’t have a lathe anymore. So make sure you have a way to get that done as well.

While traveling to our camping location in Duluth MN to watch the Blue Angels at the Duluth Air Show, I noticed a wheel on my Coleman Pop-Up camper getting hot. I reduced electric brake tension and the heat reduced significantly. I assumed I had a brake assembly problem not a wheel bearing problem. We made it to the camp site and returned home safely. Upon returning home, I removed the wheel, and hub, and watched as my brake assembly literally fell apart and onto the garage floor. I contacted Coleman Pop-Up Parts, and placed an order for a Dexter 7" left and right electric brake assembly, two 7" Dexter brake hubs and a two pack of 7" wheel seals. I informed customer service that I needed the parts ASAP as we had another trip planned in two weeks. The parts arrived with two days to spare. I installed both Brake Assemblies and Brake Drums with no problems. Coleman Pop-Up Parts saved the day by getting the parts to me in time to complete the installation and hit the road for our next camping adventure. Thanks Again to Coleman Pop-Up Parts.
